Exploring the English language through time

This workshop considers the development of the English Language from Old English via Middle English and through to Early Modern English by exploring selected works from each of these time periods. Our linguistic and cultural journey will include selected texts by Chaucer and Shakespeare amongst others, as well as a detailed analysis of parts of the Old English poem, Beowulf.
