Introduction to green woodworking

This course covers coppice woodlands, their management, history and uses; discussions on the products created from these and the skills required to turn into useful tools and items of everyday furniture.

Experience the craft by making a mallet and a charcoal-maker's stool using traditional tools.

Students will use drawhorse and drawknife in making their items, and spend a little time on the pole lathe if they wish.

All materials, tools use, encouragement and help provided on the day.
